

John spent an adventurous childhood on his family farm, learning the farming industry from his father. He loved music, singing in choirs and playing accordion, much to his mother's delight. John excelled in sports.
Although harvest season prevented him from playing football, he played baseball for Sanger High School and Fresno City College. Later in life, John enjoyed playing golf with his friends.
His career spanned from USDA inspector to a highly regarded manager in the fruit industry at various farming operations throughout the Central Valley, including Metzler's, Sundance, Deniz Packing and Crown Jewels Produce. John's career took him across the globe from South Africa to Chile. He was also an esteemed mentor to those entering the agricultural field.
John loved life and spending time with his family and friends. He was devoted to his family and loved the holidays when everyone would gather together. He volunteered in the Sanger community, coaching baseball. John loved connecting with his friends at the local coffee shop. He was a consummate storyteller, regaling many with his tales of family and friends. John was a dynamic person who was respected by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Sue Misakian.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Jo Ellen; his sister, Georgia Davidian and her husband Eddie; his sons, Lee, Jeff and James; and daughters-in-law, Ann, Carol and Linda; his grandsons, Jeremy, Aaron, Brian, Michael, Kevin and Joshua; and his great-granddaughter Daphne.
Visitation will be held at Stephens and Bean Chapel on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at Stephens and Bean Chapel on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at 10:00 a.m.
