Joseph Edward Perry

Joe Perry, age 92, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022 in Fresno, surrounded by his family. Joe was born April 10, 1929 to the late Joseph S. Perry and Laura S. Martin, in Tranquillity, Ca. Joe was a lifelong farmer, trucker, an avid motorcyclist and rodeo enthusiast.

Joe was blessed with a large and loving family. After returning from his service in the Army, he married Arletta Mae Gaffery on January 3, 1953 in Kerman, Ca. They went on to have three children, nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Joe never met a stranger and everyone was always included. There was room for all in his life; nieces, nephews, god-children, and countless friends. His friendships were lifelong.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Arletta; his children Patricia (Tom), Nancy (Ronnie), and Joe "Jody" (Cindy); his grandchildren Warren (Jungim), Carissa (Daniel), Mandy (Dave), Sarah (Joe), Joseph, Jordan, Jonah, and Joshua; his great grandchildren Cooper, Teah, Samanth, and Liza; and his sister Shirley. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandson Bill, his brother Walter, his sister Eleanor, and his parents.

Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, March 23 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kerman on Thursday, March 24 at 10:00 am. Interment at St. Peter's Cemetery following mass.
