Josephine C. Hernandez was born on July 18, 1922 at the family home in Malaga, California.
She worked in the fields during and after the depression, picking cotton, grapes, apricots and peas.
She met Mike Hernandez and together they farmed 160 acres of land in southern Idaho for 16 years.
They then returned to California in 1972 and were able to enjoy their large family.
Josephine also worked as a housekeeper for Old Mission San Jose Convent in San Jose, California.
After relocating to Fresno, Josephine worked as a housekeeper at what was then Fresno Community Hospital (Community Regional Medical Center) for 7 years. During that time, Josephine's hard work was recognized when she was named "Housekeeper of the Year".
Josephine's 3 children: Yolanda, David, and Michael were loved beyond measure, and the children were honored to have her as their Mother.
Josephine also loved her children's wives and husbands: Tom, Mary, Mary Jo, Barbara, Chuck, Danika and Cecelia.
Josephine was a woman who loved her 9 grandchildren: Kelly, Benjamin, Stephen, Daniel, Felice, Caleb,
Sharon, Seth and Sarah, as well as her 6 great grandchildren: Isabelle, Boaz, Carlos, Thomas, Joya and Matthes.
Mother, we will miss your funny wit, your imagination, your feistiness, your stories, and most of all we will miss your unconditional love.
Rest in Peace.
