Judith Ann Olney (Seavey), age 83, passed away in peaceful comfort at Saint Agnes Hospital in Fresno, CA, on November 28, 2025.
Judith, known to her family and friends as Judy, was not only a loving wife to Arthur for over 61 years. She was also an amazing mother to 3 children, grandmother to 4 grandchildren, and great-grandmother to her only great-grandchild. Judy earned her Master of Science degree in Plant Science from California State University, Fresno, having previously earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Science from the University of Rhode Island. Judy had many interests; she utilized her two degrees expertly, tending her garden and growing various foods and flowers all year round. She would often take photos of her plants and flowers to create a yearly calendar for friends and family. Judy was a talented seamstress, making clothes and costumes for her children and grandchildren throughout the years. Judy also transferred her love of plants and flowers into her hobbies by learning the art of flower arrangement. Utilizing this skill with both fresh and fake flowers, Judy would fill her home and her friends' and families' homes with beautiful wreaths and bouquets. Judy had a profound love for animals and instilled that same love in her children. The family had many cats, dogs, fish, and other animals throughout the years. Judy always made sure that her home was filled with lots of love, pets, and flowers.
Judy’s surviving family includes her husband, Arthur; son Peter, daughter-in-law Jamey, granddaughter Joanna, and great-granddaughter Emilia; her daughter Susan, son-in-law Dan, grandson Corbin, and granddaughter Alana; her daughter Erin, son-in-law Chris, and grandson Gawain; and her brother, Barry. She is predeceased by her mother Virginia Seavey and her father Leon Seavey of Rhode Island.
There will be a graveside service at Clovis Cemetery District on December 23, 2025, at 11:30am, 305 N Villa Ave, Clovis, CA 93612.
