
Deacon Kelvin Lavon Young Sr. was born on October 25, 1971 in Fresno, California and passed away on February 21, 2015 at the age of 43. He was the first born son of Jeffery Lea Young Jr. and Mary Delorse Myles-Williams. He received his education from Carver Elementary, Fipps Primary Elementary and Riverdale Elementary. He graduated in 1989 from Roosevelt High School in Fresno, California. After high school he went to Fresno City College and received his A.A Degree in liberal studies. He wanted to further his education at Fresno State to become a math professor. During that time he met Latonya Sarina Green. He also received his Christian education at a young age. He attended One Way Church of God of Christ under the late Pastor Herman Deshazuer. His Grandma took him to church faithfully he went to Sunday school, Bible Band, YPWW, Vacation Bible School. In 1997 Kelvin gave his life to Christ and joined Harvest of Harmony International Church under the leadership of Pastor Kelvin Morgan where he became the first ordained Deacon. He was faithful to his Pastor, Church and whatever came along with it. He never said the word “no”. He attended all church services until his health began to fail. Even after that he still had a mind to go to church. He was an inspiration to all of us. He fought until the end. Kelvin was preceded in death by his dad Jeffery Young Jr., his sister Demetria Young and his grandfather Jeffrey L. Young Sr., and granddaughter Kaziah Ranae Bell. His Memory will be forever cherished by his mother Mary Miles-Williams, three sons Kelvin L. Young Jr, step son Johnell Milburn Jr. and Donta Young, two daughters Kelvina N. Young and step daughter Shantell Milburn. His siblings Adell Vaughn Jr. and his wife Aisha Vaughn and Jeffery L. Young III all of Fresno, Barbara Ann of Atlanta, Rita Vaughn-Bowman, and husband Michael Bowmen and Teborah Vaughn both of Fresno. Six Grandchildren Kahmora Young, Demarion D. Milburn, Kamorie S. Bell, Amere Parker, Janelle Milburn and Kelvin L. Young the III all of Fresno, California. Grandparents Robert and Ethel Myles and Carrie Young all of Riverdale, California and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends. He will be gratefully missed by all of us. Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Monday, March 2, 2015 from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be held at One Way Community Church, 429 Broadway in Fresno on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Belmont Memorial Park.
