5 whole years, Always thinking of you! Thank you for all the great memories you left on all of us. We miss you Nak!

Can’t believe it’s been 5 years. We miss you as much today as we did 5 years ago. Miss your visits and our talks. They were the best. We will see and talk again one day.

Here we are again. 4 years since you left us. You are so missed by all who knew you. Miss your visits and talks. Thank you for all that you did for our youth and all you were and did for my family. You are truly missed and will never be forgotten. See you one day again.

Already 3 years!! We think of you often, but we always think about you on the 4th of July. Miss stopping by your Fireworks booth. So many things and wonderful times that we miss. We hold onto our great memories, and we do have many memories of and with you. Gone too soon but you will never be forgotten. Until we meet again. 

Already two years!! We still think of you all the time. You were/are one of the best friends that we have ever had. Miss your drop by visits. Larry you are truly missed by us and our whole family. 

So hard to believe it has already been a year. We miss you so much. Life is not the same without you especially the 4th of July. You were so involved with the youth of Orange Cove and with their families. We miss your visits and your listening ear. Gone too soon but never forgotten.

Nak is definitely missed by all who new him. He was the light to a future for so many. In his memory, we should all be the type of person that Nak new we could be.

Blessed to have been able to have had an opportunity to meet such an amazing, caring coach, friend and a mentor. Orange Cove need someone exactly like you. You were my 8th grade science teacher and coach then worked your way into my daughters softball team. We had an awesome time in Santa Maria at a softball tournament and that season we brought home the gold. Thank you Coach Nak for all  you have Done for our youth, you will truly be missed. R.I.P

Larry "Nak" Nakamura, It has taken me so long to respond because I just can't believe you are gone. I did not have you as a teacher but my boys had you as a teacher and a Baseball coach. Joe and I became friends with you through our boys. Our friendship lasted until your passing. You were the most caring, loving, passionate and best friend anyone could have. We will miss our visits when you would come out and just sit and talk or come to one of our BBQ's or our chance meeting at the Bank or at the grocery store. You never had an unkind word to say to anyone or about anyone. You were always that one friend you could depend on. When Joe and I went on a mini trip last year I asked you if I could just give my mom your phone number in case she need something while we were gone a couple of days and of course you said yes. Well she didn't call you but you called her a couple times a day to check on her. That is the kind of person you were. Always there for someone else. Always helping someone else. Larry, we miss and love you. We will never forget the wonderful friend you were to us. God has a wonderful Angel in heaven now. Until we meet again. Condolences to your family and your precious daughter that you loved so much. Gone but you will never be forgotten. 

When i first met you was in citrus you had talked to me because you’ve seen me play soccer ⚽️ . Than i got to be your student in High school here in OC .. although you would tease me about soccer im glad I got to be your student 👩‍🎓. The last time i got to see you was at the store a week before your passing  and you asked about my babies and how they were doing i got to talk to you about lots of stuff going  on with my life and you told me to keep my head up and stay strong for my kids. You made a huge impact in so many people and i dont even think you knew that.. 
Thank you for being a mentor as an individual!!!

Mr Nakamura “Nak” as he was known to most of us was an amazing teacher. He had the passion to make a difference in his students lives. Nak, you were an amazing person with a heart of gold. You truly meant a lot to many and your passing has not been easy. You were the type of person that help out other the best way you can. Very sad to hear of the passing of "Nak". He touched many lives as a teacher and person. He always had a light shining from his eyes, and a truly caring soul that is seen in so many loving posts from former students. We should all be blessed to make such a positive difference in so many lives. Rest in peace Mr. Nakamura.

Nak was the best teacher for many many years....he was very devoted to his students and sports. He used to tell us if we wanted to make something out of life we had to work harder than most and overcome challenges we face and the best way is to have confidence in yourselves....he was right and I can say even after many many years he recognized each of his students as adults. He was what teacher should be what all of us should be 100% real. He was and always will be a huge part in orange cove history and will never be forgotten.  The one thing that meant more in his life than students and sports was his daughter lari...he lived for her so I send prayers each day to you . I'm sorry for your loss. You had an amazing father .
Goodbye Mr Nak till we meet again.

Mr. Nak was an amazing teacher and track coach! Funny memory i have of him is during class, one time, he ate a baby octupus! I  remeber telling him "ewww Nak how gross" and he just laughed and said it was delicious!! Lol He always found ways to make his class a fun place to learn! As my track coach all through middle school, I learned so much from him. I remember him always being very supportive but, pushing me at the same time, to help me improve and be better on the track. He always had a smile on his face and was always cracking jokes. His lessons will forever be in my heart. My most sincere condolences to his family. May you rest in peace Mr. Nak! 

He who seeks to be first will be last but he who works humbly and selflessly will be first in the kingdom of God. Mr. Nakamura never sought praise for his acts of kindness; he worked tirelessly for his kids and forever advocated for them. He will always be one of the greats of all time. He is one of the most humble and hard working men I have had the pleasure of working with. He still lives in us so we can take comfort in the fact that because he served the community of Orange Cove steadfastly and lovingly, he will rise again and live in eternal joy, peace, and love in his kingdom. Sleep now Sir, we will all see each other again.

Yes, he was a very special person. He was my teacher at Citrus Middle School in Orange Cove. He was always very kind, humorous, and witty. He has left a lasting impression in my life and heart. He will be missed. 

My heart is broken in a million pieces...
My soccer coach, my track coach, my baseball coach, my PE teacher, my science teacher, my summer school teacher. Mr Nak always referred to me as one of his boys when mentioning me and always took care of me when he saw me. A second father to every child in Orange Cove. I last spoke with him a few months ago before the whole quarantine at @dinubafitrepublic and at Reedley Youth soccer. He was so happy to see me being a volunteer for the sport he first taught me! Our conversations were always of a positive nature. Forever a mentor.  I will miss Mr. Nak tremendously but his legacy will never ever be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with Larry Ann and his loved ones in this difficult times...

Mr. Nak was one of the best science teacher and coach! In human anatomy and sports medicine he was always putting me on the spot asking me questions to make sure I knew the curriculum. Being in his class was always educational and always fun. I remember I would always get confused on roll call with me and another student because he would pronounce our names very similar. At times I would say here for both names and would have to go up to him to let him know the other girl was absent lol.  He was also my volley ball coach. He thought me how to be a setter my first year playing. He showed me the game of volleyball and I went on to playing every year. Mr. Nak always bought me pizza for my birthday. I think he did for many but he always made lunch time on my birthday very special. He was a great teacher and coach, I appreciate every thing he's ever done for me and my classmates. He is a legend. Forever he will be in our hearts. I send my condolences to the Nakamura Family. Rest in paradise Nak ❤

These 2 icons were such an blessing to all who met them! Long time friends and co-workers of each other, they did so much to keep all their students in line and in tune with a positive life! Our hearts broke when we first learned of Ms Santos' death. And broke again when we learned of Mr Nak's death! 
Although we hadn't seen them in a very long long time, they both were and are still in our hearts. Nothing but good positive things to say about these 2 amazing people. I am so grateful to God for sending them my way, because they had such an influence on my life. They both saw something in me and pressured me to steer to good side of life. I will forever be grateful for them showing interest in a little brat kid like me when others wouldn't give me the time of day. 
Ms Santos' did everything she could to help me be able to take the 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C., which i will never ever forget.
And Mr Nak, I could still see him running barefoot with his sandals in his hand down the alley behind 4th Street after school, to stop me from getting into a fight in 8th grade. He kept telling me how it wasn't worth it bcuz he wanted to see me and all of us walk across that stage graduation night. Gosh man, he was so amazing! Thank you Nak and Santos for helping make a difference in so many lives!

Mr. Nakamura always pushed me and made sure I did my best especially in science. He never gave up and made sure I understood what needed to be done and made sure I got it done. I will always remember his sense of humor. When I started wrestling he would ask who would win between me and my brother, it was a never ending battle. I will always remember rain or shine he rode that motorcycle. Over the years he's had a positive influence on everyone he was around. You will always be missed

I miss your texts,phone calls, family visits, your laughter, and you teasing me. We had a special bond because we were both teachers. We dedicated our life to our students and their families. Listening and reading the stories of all the lives you have touched  is a tribute to your legacy. Your gift was to make every individual feel special, respected, loved, and you helped them rise to their highest potential. You taught everyone to: Dream It, Believe It, & Achieve It!!! 
I know as a sister-in-law, I was only allowed to ask 7 questions per family visit (Ha! Ha!), but “How did you do it ALL?” I know each person that you touched during your journey in life felt like they were #1 along with God 🙏🏼& your loving daughter, LariAnne.💕

I first met Mr. Nakamura in 7th. Grade back in 2002. He is by far one of the best teachers that I ever had. EVERY ONE who met him remembered him, he was one of a kind! May he rest in peace. 💕

Mr. Nak one of the best Science teachers, always being helpful, kind and caring with his students and others. There are so many memories I had in Science with Mr. Nak. I remember we had to open a frog omg it was horrible but I remember Mr. Nak looking at me And tell me “you could do it” I didn’t even want to touch the dead frog but I had too. Thank you Mr. Nak for being an awesome teacher, friend and coach. You will truly be missed.

It broke my heart when I heard  the news. However, it instantly brought postive memories  which many of us shared growing up in Orange Cove. He impacted so many lives by always placing himself last and always putting the community's needs first. A heart that no one could match. His sense of humor always made everyone smile and motivated us to push forward.  It's very apparent that he will be missed and it speaks volume in the amount of love the city of Orange Cove has for Mr. Nakamura. Rest in Peace. We will miss your presence in the city, but we will always remember what you did for those in need. 





My last memory of Mr.Nak was on 4th of July. I remember buying fireworks from his post. Before I left he asked me how many kiddos I had at home and he gave me free little fireworks foe the kids at home. He always had such a big heart. He will always be remembered as an amazing person with a beautiful soul. 

Nak was my coach. He did alot for his students and athletes. He would push you and make you believe in yourself. He pushed me to play baseball my 8th grade at Citrus. I was his aide in science class 7th grade. He would go to my house knock on my door and drive me to basketball camp in reedley. He would buy sports equipment for kids that couldn't afford it and helped develop little league baseball in Orange Cove.  You are still in my conversations many years later when we joke and say how hard you were on us but then you would laugh and joke with us because you really cared about us. Rest in peace u are truly loved by many in Orange Cove  #LEGENDARY

Mr Nak was a rare breed teacher, not too many teachers have a heart to teach, he will forever be the one teacher who I felt a true connection with, I hope others can follow his example 

Mr. Nak was my 8th grade Science teacher and inspired me to write an essay so that I can win a trip to go skiing. I always wanted to thank him for helping me. I ended up being picked to go skiing and bruised my knee for three months. Lol good memories. RIP Nak

Mr. Nakamura was the best substitute teacher ever!! He made me laugh and the kids loved him (transitional kindergarteners). I am saddened by the news of his passing. My condolences to his whole family. Please know he left more positive memories than you’ll ever hear😊

Mr. Nakamura was my Science teacher at Citrus. I remember that we were going to have a school dance but you couldn’t get any tardies to attend. So, one rainy day the warning bell went off and I ran as fast as I could to his classroom. Well, when I finally got into Mr. Nakamura’s Class I slipped and slid on my stomach to the front of the room and Mr. Nakamura said in his coaching voice, “You’re safe!”
Mr. Nakamura made an embarrassing situation into something very funny!!! Will miss him. He was also an amazing substitute for our kids! I new my students were always in great hands when I was gone. I never had to worry. Thank you Mr. Nakamura for all your kindness.  I will miss you.

I had Mr . Nakamura for science . From his class I remember hearing about calories for the first time . We did the calorie experiment in class burning peanuts . I still hear his voice in my head . He left that impression . Rest In Peace Mr Nakamura ! 

Back in High School, Mr Nakamura once gave us a ride home after a RHS dance. From Reedley back to O.C. Augie Calderon, Virgil Agustin and I didn't have a ride home, so we walked to Mr Nakamura's house in Front of St La Salle school. This was  already close to midnight. We saw he was still up watching TV. Walked up to his front door but we were hesitant to knock. He came from the side of his garage and startled us, asking " What the hell are you Jokers doing?" We asked for a ride home and with No hesitations he took us back to O.C. That was NAK. Always smiling no matter what.

I have learned a few of my previous teachers have past, but learning the Nak passed has really saddened me. 

Nak was amazing!!! He didn’t judge us on our home life or background, he judged us on the person we were on the inside. Though we couldn’t see that person, he did, and he pushed us to be the best we could be!!! From the classroom to the court, he encouraged, taught us, and pushed, and pushed, and pushed until we could see our inner self!!! Many of us are more successful now because of him, and all of us are better for knowing him!!!

Prayer to his family, friends, and all of the community who are mourning. But remember, Nak would not want us to be sad for long. So honor him by rising up and doing something good for others.....help his legacy continue!!! And thanks Nak for the ladybug (preserved in resin) that I still have to this day!!!

One of my favorite memories was when he took all his lab assistants to Magic Mountain.  He was my favorite teacher and one that as a student you could talk to as an equal, at least that’s how he always made you feel.  Very loved teacher,  may he Rest In Peace.

To the best man I know, the most selfless person I’ve met in my whole entire life! Were all gonna miss you so much! You always took care of others Nak, including me. Always keeping tabs making sure I did good where ever I went. Ima miss your laugh, your sarcasm, just you in general! I always enjoyed your company no matter if we were fixing little league baseball fields in the 110 degree weather, like we’ve done back in the day. I loved every memory I had with you. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for everything you’ve  done for me Nak, you’re forever gonna be in our hearts. Keep watching over us from above, just know that I miss you single everyday and I love you so so much.

Although I was not fortunate enough to have been a student of Naks, my brothers and sisters as well as my children were and loved him.  He did so much for our children and the community at large, there will never be another like him. Thank you Mr Nak for all your love and care.  May you rest in the loving arms of our Savior Jesus Christ.  Until we meet again.  Our deepest condolences to his daughter and family. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all. 

My coach Nak was the best one out there. He showed how much he cared about us and wanted us to be better. I lost touch with you Nak but always thought about you and will carry you in my heart. 

I’ll never forget him not being my science teacher but yet being a institutional advocate for all kids. Regardless if I held a really personal connection or not. I saw the beautiful aura he gave to all Orange Cove kids. You will be deeply missed!!

I was writing reports inside my patrol vehicle one hot day in a open parking lot, when i heard this loud motorcycle speed by me, then, the driver turns around and drives up and parks in the parking lot  he removes his helmet and starts walking toward me in a fast walk, as he approches me he said," i cant belive your a cop,"  i reply, to Nak" i cant belive your still alive,"  he stops and we start laughing  and started chatting away  that was maybe five years ago   long time memories of him, you will be missed

Coach Nak was everything we should all strive to be. Nak was a funny man, humble, but at times mean, he wanted what was best for OCHS students but at times I assume we take parenting/coaching/ teachers for granted. Nak was my soccer coach for a season at OCHS. Orange Cove was more impoverished than today and Nak would buy the entire team burgers after games. Nak is OC! -"Titan born, Titan Breed, Going to be a Titan, forever"!

The most passionate, selfless, and sarcastic man I know. I will remember you always as the most memorable and caring coach and teacher. Always about giving and helping your students the most you could. Our tennis team became a family because of you. You were one of the biggest influences in my life and I will always be thankful for you. Thank you Nak for instilling in me passion and thrive to do and want more. 

Nakamura was one of the most amazing people i had ever known and was my drive for trying new things and succeeding in them with him as my coach. The news of his passing left me speechless and heart broken.  May he rest in peace. 

1976 boys 4×100 relay team Rene Vera,Urbano Serquina,Abe Garcia and myself Nak set up a race against reedley high soph relay team for some reason urbano couldn't run so Nak stepped up and took his place so race starts but Nak had dress shoes on and took them off and ran in socks Rene hands of to Nak and Nak going to hand of to Abe I guess Abe took of to soon or Nak wasn't able to catch up but Nak being himself literally dove like superman to hand the baton of to Abe and made the exchange he got up all dusty and scraped up but we won that day and we asked Nak why did you do that and he said I  just wanted you boys to win

Mr. Nak was always kind and caring. One of the best teachers and a great family friend. He coached my brother Isaiah in track for many years also coached all 3 of my brothers in babe Ruth who as orange cove boys proudly played for the expos. He was great at what he did. I will forever be grateful to him for being there when my oldest brother passed away. He checked up on me in school throughout my 8th grade year at citrus. You will be missed by so many! 

They are many memories that I had with Mr.Nak the one that I remember the most is my last week of cross age and he was my sub during that week and he was saying how proud of me he was that I was graduating and he was giving me advice  on how to live life and follow my dreams I will forever cherish that moment with my heat love u mr.Nak Rest In Peace 

I am sad to know that you are gone ... you were my teacher in 1978.  I hope you were in no pain . I met you and you said you had heart surgery I was hoping that was the cure.  Take care loved you friend.
