Leona Christopherson (Torres)

Leona Grace Christopherson was born December 22, 1953 in Provo, Utah to Jared Leon and Estella Grace Christopherson and left us unexpectedly on March 5, 2011 in Fresno, California. She was 57 years old at time of passing.

She moved with her family to Fresno, California in 1962 and graduated from Roosevelt High School and Fresno City College with a Licensed Vocational Nursing degree.

She was employed thru Fresno Community Hospital, Twilight Haven and Pacific Garden Convalescent Hospitals. She was injured on the job in 1990 resulting in permanent disability.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jared Leon and Estella Grace Fowler Christopherson, and her half-brothers Larry Woods, Duane Woods, and Darrell Brewer.

She is survived by her common-law husband Carlos Torres, her half-brother Kay Woods, her brothers LeRoy, Ray and Chris Christopherson, and her sister Sue Ladd-Broyles. Many relatives and friends will miss her.

Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Friday, March 18, 2011 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The Funeral Service will also be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at St. Peter's Cemetery.
