She was 93 years old, born on October 10, 1929 to Stanley and Fidencia Ludington.
Letha graduated from Central High School in 1947 and then attended 4C’s Business College. She married Joseph Tonozzi on August 11, 1951 and together they raised three children, Kathryn, Janet and Tim.
At college, she mastered the skills of shorthand and typing and worked for several years outside the home as a secretary for Twining Laboratories, the California Holstein Association and the Hilton Hotels. She enjoyed her work and especially creating life-long friendships. She loved meeting new people, she never met a stranger.
Letha had quite a social life as she was a member of the local Progressive Home Club. She enjoyed meeting with her dear friends for a meeting and lunch, every Friday. She never missed special occasion lunches with her sorority sisters, Alpha Omicron Sorority. She continued to stay in touch with her classmates from high school, in the later years, she helped organize yearly class reunions. She loved talking on the phone and staying connected with her old friends, sending cards for birthdays and holidays.
After her retirement, she was able to create lots of memories with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never missed a soccer game, tennis match, softball game or bike race. You could always find her on the sidelines with dad, before he passed away, cheering on the kids.
Mom was a fan of Fresno State Football. She and dad never missed a game or a tailgate party. She loved taking trips with dad in the RV to the Klamath River for salmon fishing. Her favorite was going to Pismo Beach for 4th of July with the family. She loved to make fudge and caramel corn for Christmas Eve’s at her house. Her German chocolate cake was a favorite. She was an excellent baker.
Mom’s smile was warm and contagious, she will be missed by many. To know her was to love her. She will always be in our hearts.
The family would like to thank Saint Agnes Hospice for their caring assistance in keeping our mother comfortable.
