Lois Mae Buchenberger

She was born in Sheboygan, WI. Lois was 84.

Lois was a strong soul who deeply loved her husband; children and family.

Before she retired, her last professional position was at Fresno City College as Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Instruction.

She attended mass at St. Paul Catholic Newman Center and later at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

She loved to read, have bridge playing parties with their friends and enjoyed early evenings at the pool with our father. In her final years, Lois was cared for by dedicated individuals.

The family wishes to extend our heartfelt appreciation for each of these caregiving professionals, provided by Brookdale; Hinds Hospice; and previously by Dedicated Care.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Howard P. Buchenberger; sister, Beverly Wagner and her husband Eugene; and sister-in-law, Jean Gumm and her husband Blayne, of southern California. In death, she will rest with our beloved father Howard; and her parents, Edward and Margaret Bergman, at Belmont Memorial Park in Fresno.

Lois is survived by her adult children and their spouses, Laura Ceja and her husband Paul of Santa Maria, CA, David Buchenberger of Fresno, CA, Lesley Fairburn and her husband Kevin of Clovis, CA, and Julie Klassen of Irvine, CA; as well as four grandchildren, Paul Ceja, Nicole Ceja Lima, Ashley and Brittney Fairburn; and eight great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Friday, June 24, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Belmont Memorial Park.
