Mr. Louie Joseph Caglia

After graduating from Fresno High School in 1957, Louie married the love of his life, Margaret Barcelos of Kerman, CA. They were married 52 years. Louie was employed by Jensen and Pilegard as Store Manager for 40 years and retired in 1998. Louie and his wife Margaret previously owned Subway franchises in Fresno and Clovis. He was also a member of the City County Allstar Committee for over 10 years. He enjoyed playing in competitive softball leagues, bowling leagues, traveling and his true passion after retirement was playing a round of golf in between taxiing his grandchildren around town. Louie loved watching professional sports on a Sunday afternoon in his sports room, but nothing compared to how much he loved watching his grandchildren on the ballfield. He enjoyed every moment he spent with his nine grandchildren. He had a very special connection with each and every one of them and they will all miss their Papa deeply. Louie was a very special person and touched the hearts of everyone he came in contact with and will be greatly missed by all.

Louie was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Effie Caglia; sister, MaryAnne Caglia; and three brothers, Frank, Danny and Joe Caglia.

Louie is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; his daughters, Cheryl Herrera and her husband Armando, Julie Leonardo and her husband John; his son, Nick Caglia and his wife Sonia all of Fresno; and his nine grandchildren, Jacquelyn Ketch and her husband Bryan, Jerica St. Angelo and her husband Joey, Justin DuFresne, Jeremy Leonardo, Tyler Caglia, Brison Cortez, Jordan Caglia, Jake Herrera and Jessica Caglia. He was recently blessed with his great grandson, Ember Cortez. Louie is also survived by his five sisters, Antionette Brager, Jenny Goulart, Rose Marie DeManty, Julie Rocha and Elizabeth Locarnini.

Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Sunday, June 27, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Clovis on Monday, June 28, 2010 at 10:15 a.m. Interment will follow at Clovis Cemetery.
