Louie M Huerta

Louie was a decorated Sp4 veteran serving the Vietnam War. Louie spent 40 years as the business owner of “Louie’s Mobile Speedometer” in Fresno, CA. Louie proudly served many local trucking companies, school districts, automobiles, and hotrods in the Central Valley. Louie was born on March 12, 1949 in Sanger, California to his parents Luterio and Mary Huerta. Louie grew up in Reedley with his sister Teresa Huerta (Marez) surrounded by many extended family members of the Medrano and Huerta families. Growing up he often went to work at the Huerta Family Farming and Trucking Company. When he was 19, Louie joined the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington. He went on to serve in the Vietnam War with some of his closest buddies including the late Marvin Rodriguez.

After serving in Vietnam, Louie returned home and spent time working for the local “Gattie’s Richfield Service Station”. During his time in Fresno, he started a family and opened “Louie’s Mobile Speedometer.” When Louie wasn’t working, he had a passion for restoring cars, singing with a band, gambling, dancing, men’s fast-pitch softball, camping with his family, and coaching his children’s athletic teams.

Louie was predeceased by his parents Luterio & Mary Huerta, sister Rosemary Huerta, and extended Medrano and Huerta family members. Louie is survived by his sister, Teresa Marez with husband Alfred Marez, and daughters, Andrea Huerta and Michael Ramos, Wendie Jager and husband Barry Jager, Victoria Williams and husband Taylor Williams, and son Louie Huerta Jr. Grandchildren include Viviana Martinez, Marcelo Martinez, Hendrix Williams and Lennox Williams.

A recitation of the Holy Rosary with be held at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno CA, 93720 on Sunday November 3, 2024 at 5:00pm with viewing from 4:00 pm to 7:00pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1060 "F" Street, Reedley, CA 93654 on Monday November 4th at 10:00am.

Burial will follow at Reedley Cemetery, 2185 S Reed Ave, Reedley, CA 93654.
