

She was raised in Chowchilla, CA and attended high school in Fresno, CA. She attended Fresno State University, where she earned her BA-Bachelor’s in Arts for Teaching.
She met the love of her life, her husband, Glenn at a dance when she was 22 years of age. They were married on June 23, 1971 in Fresno, CA at Our Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She and Glenn then started their lives on the Hepner Farm in Raisin City, CA. She loved helping do various things such as milking cows, planting fruits and vegetables, raising chickens for eggs, and making her own canned goods.
She was a stay at home mom for her 4 children for numerous years and would also substitute teach at various local elementary schools. She loved to sew clothes for her daughters. She also volunteered at many school functions providing many baked goods and homemade items to many a school fair. She also volunteered every year at the Alvina Elementary fair booth making bierocks for the Caruthers Fair.
Once her children were old enough, she got a job working for the IRS where she then retired after 25 years with them.
After her retirement she loved to travel around visiting her children and grandchildren wherever they were, whether it was Texas, North Dakota, or Arizona. She enjoyed taking family vacations and sewing dresses and quilts for her grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her mother, Cleo Stevens Rohner Stockton, her father, John Ernest Rohner, her mother and father in law, George & Anna Hepner, her sister-in- law & brother-in law Evelyn & Jerry Prudek, and her brother-in-law, George “Jr” Hepner.
She is survived by her loving husband, Glenn Julius Hepner. Her children, Jennifer Hepner Bairos, Heather Hepner Duran, Christina Hepner Hubbard, and John Hepner. Her grand-children, Jonathon Bairos, Jordan Bairos, Gabriel Duran, Christina Duran, Alex Hubbard, and Julie Hubbard. Her siblings, sister Jacelyn “Jackie” Rohner Spiars and brother-in-law Early Spiars, brother John Dennis Rohner and sister-in-law, Lou Rohner, brother Richard Stockton and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Stockton, sister Mildred “Millie” Stockton and brother-in-law, Greg Oxford and brother William “Bill” Stockton and sister-in-law Janet Stockton. Her sister-in-law, Dollie Hepner and her brother-in-law Jim Hepner. Along with many much-loved nephews and nieces and grand-nephews and nieces.
Services will be held as follows:
Rosary will be held Thursday, January 7th at 6:00 p.m., located at Stephen & Bean Funeral Chapel at 202 N. Teilman Ave., Fresno, CA 93706. Limited to just 25 people, if you plan to attend please contact the family.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 8th at 10:00 a.m., at St Jude’s Catholic Church, located at 208 W. Jefferson, Fresno, CA 93706. This service will be limited to 50-60 people with the current COVID restrictions on masks and distance. Gravesite service is limited to immediate family only.
A Celebration of Margaret’s life will occur on Saturday, January 9th starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Hepner Family Farm. Refreshments will be provided and will end with a Fireworks display.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret Hepner’s name to St. Jude’s Catholic Church, 208 W. Jefferson. Fresno, CA 93706 or to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 15437 W. Kearney Blvd., Kerman, CA 93630.
