Mario Lawrence Liscano

Mario Liscano passed away on Thursday November 21, 2019 at the age of 59 at his home in Fresno.

He was born in Fresno Ca. on February 26, 1960. Mario is survived by his parents,Frank M. Liscano &

Margaret A Ramirez, son Stephen Mario Liscano, sister Belinda Ray,brother Vince Liscano and Wife

Norma Jean, nephews Demitrius Prado and Wife Andrea, nephew Vinnie Liscano, nieces Lucille and Sofia Ray, great nieces Delilah, Farrah, Atalanta and Arianna.

Mario's childhood years were lived in Pinedale Ca. where he attended St Agnes Catholic Church with

family. He received his First Holy Communion there. He attended Pinedale and Nelson Elementary. As

a young man summers were spent working for Storelli Farms with the whole family slicing peaches and

apricots. Summer was also spent riding his Yamaha 60 dirt bike in the empty fields that surrounded the

neighborhood.

When he was a teenager the family moved to Fresno and he continued to attend Clovis High school.

Mario had various jobs. He worked for Sunnyside Carwash then moved on to the Department of

Forestry forming fire roads in the foothills. He eventually worked for Valley Decorating Co. in Pinedale

where he became a foreman in his Department. Mario's love for motorcycle's continued, he was always

riding his Kawasaki H2750 with all his cousins he even taught his sister Belinda to ride and eventually

upgraded to his Kawasaki GPZll00 giving his 750 to his brother Vince. His favorite motorcycle racer was

Eddie Lawson who he had the privilege of seeing race.

He had a great love for music in his youth which stayed with him throughout his life! He enjoyed playing

his bass guitar. Mario was 18 when he took his Iii' brother Vince to the local music store and let him pick

out any guitar on the wall so they could jam together. Truthfully, Mario shared his passion for music

which in turn inspired many in the family to play an instrument and enjoy music.

At 22 Mario was involved in a serious motorcycle accident by God's grace and strength he awoke from a

coma and began a very difficult road to recovery with all the family's love and especially the continued

care and selfless love of his mother Margaret, Mario began to regain his life.

Many years were spent together with the family having BBQ'S, celebrating Birthdays, Holidays and his

favorite just sitting around in the front yard listening to music and laughing with his family. He enjoyed

watching NFL Sunday, his favorite team was the Minnesota Vikings and his favorite color was purple.

Mario later attended St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where he was confirmed in 1999. Some

Sundays he would help with the collection, he loved it! He had a deep faith and love for Jesus. Mario

always spoke of Him as his Divine Healer and always wore his St Benedict crucifix. He was known to

always carry prayer cards in his shirt or pant pockets.

Mario really enjoyed the company of all his family. He especially enjoyed raising his nephews and nieces.

He was always ready to help out when they were younger, with baby-sitting, picking them up from

school, driving them around in his motorhome and taking good care of them. To his nephews and

nieces he was a second father. He loved them as if they were his own children and he also received their

love in return. They shared so many joyful times together even into their adult lives. He had a nickname

for all of them. They also had their affectionate names for him too. To his nephews Vinnie and Demitrius

he was Mamms. To his nieces Lucy, Sofia, Delilah, Farrah and Atalanta he was "Poof".

Mario lived simply but was very generous and giving. He was always ordering gifts, nick-nack's and other

items through the mail so he could give them to the kids or family. You could always expect Mario to

hand out some candy or bubble gum to you and everyone else.

Mario's was also very fond of animals particularly dogs he was always in the company of his little pets

whom he loved. He could always be found feeding them treats and making sure their little homes were

warm during the frigid Fresno winter. Even the neighborhood cats enjoyed the free meals as he paid

special attention to them as well. Some decided to stick around others just ate and ran and yes, he had a

nickname for all of them also.

He spent many years helping his mom with the daily chores of life. Every Saturday they would go out

shopping and enjoyed grabbing Rally's burgers or eating tacos at one of his favorite restaurant's Pepa's.

He loved his mom very much and was closest to her. Mario made sure his mom was always taken care

of.

Mario loved to go on outing's out with his dad, brother and sister-in-law Norma Jean (who he always

asked if the brownies were ready) to eat Mexican food. He was always laughing and cracking jokes along

the way. He never forgot to bring some type of 49er gift to give to his dad. He loved to reminisce about

the good old days when he was growing up. Taking summer trips to Los Angeles with his dad in the

diesel truck or the time him and Dad went to Candlestick Park to see the Viking's and Forty Niners.

Mario did his best to watch over and protect his family from the early years to his last day. He was a

wonderful son, brother, uncle and father. He will never be forgotten. He will always be remembered for

his generous love, love he had for his family. Mario Liscano will be missed by all his family, countless

cousins and many friends.

Eternal rest grant unto him 0 Lord and may perpetual light shine upon Him.
