

She was born in Fresno, CA on September 14th, 1972, daughter of Steve and Maria Garcia. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Cesar Garcia, her daughter Angela M. Castillo, three sons, Augustine, Cesar Jr, and Esteban J, granddaughter, Isabella Martha, her two sisters Lourdes Herrera and Mariana Garcia, her mother Maria and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Steve "Konky" Garcia.
Martha grew up in Mendota CA and graduated from Tranquillity High School and West Hills College. After marrying Cesar Garcia, they moved to Kerman, CA and later to Fresno. She worked for Fresno Unified in several positions for 21 years. Her last 7 years Martha worked a Bullard Talent as the Office Manager. She ran the school like she did her household with a big heart and a big stick. Martha gave her all to her family and the students, teachers and administrators. Even during her chemo treatments, she would go into the school or call and give instructions wanting to make the kids events and necessary paperwork was handled.
Martha was loved by everyone she worked with and everyone that encounter her realized what an amazing woman she was. She was fun, energetic, loving and dedicated. She joked around and always made everyone laugh. She was helpful till the end always trying to make other’s lives easier. She will be missed greatly by the everyone at Bullard Talent and her circle of friends. Martha was instrumental in planning her 10th and 20th high school reunion and opened her home for the planning community. She was looking forward to her 30th reunion next year. Martha loved to dance (even if it were in the middle of an aisle at the store or in her car) and could bust a move, she loved Prince and everything 80’s.
Martha would go on loooooooooong walks with her sisters and daughter and even completed several half marathons. She was the oldest of 3 sisters and always set a very high example for her two sisters to follow. She was a loving aunt and grandma. She was looking forward to having more grandkids and spoiling them rotten. She lived for her family and did everything to provide for them and show them love, even if it meant being tough on them.
Private services will be held on July 30th and 31st. A Drive-by Memorial for friends and loved one’s will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020, 6:00pm – 8:00pm outside of her home. People are welcome to come by to pay their respect to the family and sign the guest book and share their love for Martha. Contact, Angela, Lourdes or Mariana for address.
