

Max Salazar passed away on August 3, 2021 at the age of 81 in Fresno, CA. He was born in Hanford, CA to Max and Isabel Salazar. He lived in Fremont, CA before returning to Fresno to be closer to his family.
He graduated from Edison High School in 1959, and then served in the United States Navy for 4 years. Max graduated from Fresno City College in 1967, and San Francisco State College in 1971. He obtained his Teaching Credential in 1973. He was a teacher for over 25 years for New Haven School District.
Max enjoyed traveling – visiting all seven continents, scrapbooking, walking, and dining out. He was a cool dresser, he loved his vests. He made the best pancakes in the world, and always gave up his master bedroom when guests came to visit. Max was always excited to see you, and he made people feel special, even strangers. He gave the best tours of San Francisco.
He was preceded in death by his parents Max and Isabel Salazar; sister Isabel Carrera; and first born nephew, Rodney Rodriguez.
Max is survived by his brother Benjamin Salazar and wife Esther; sisters Rosalind Rodriguez and Lydia Strathdee and husband Bruce; brother in law Frank Carrera; 9 nieces and nephews, 14 grand nieces and nephews; and 16 great grand nieces and nephews. He was loved by all family and friends alike.
Visitation will be held at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel on Friday, August 13, 2021 from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m., with Funeral Services staring at 12:30 p.m.
