Mike Salter

Michael Clarence Salter passed away on March 23, 2026. He was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, on April 27, 1939. He later moved to Modesto, California, where he met and married Betty Johnson in 1963. Together they raised two sons. Mike and Betty Salter owned and operated Salter’s Answering Service in Modesto from 1978 to 1990. After that, Mike went back to school and became a mortician working for Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel in Modesto and later for Lisle Funeral Home in Fresno. His final career was working as a special education instructional aide in Central Unified School District until he retired at 83 years old. He had a very full life.

Mike was preceded in death by Betty Salter, his wife of 60 years. He is survived by his sons, Stephen Salter (wife Kym) and David Salter (wife Cheryl), and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday April 11, 2026 at 11:00 am at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326.
