Nelva was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Jones. She is survived by her sons, Rocky Jones (his wife, Joni), and Randy Jones; her brother, Lyle McCaskill; her grandchildren, Jared Robert Jones, Jessica Lynn Claypool (her husband, Corbin), and Jeremy Randall Jones; and her great-grandchildren, Malakai Robert Claypool, Ezra Joseph Claypool, Tatum Rae Jones, and London Grace Jones.
She worked at Fresno High School as an Attendance clerk for 26 years, where she was known for her dedication and hard work. Nelva was passionate about her love of Jesus and church, her family, and she enjoyed going to Table Mountain. She was actively involved in planning and organizing the McCaskill family reunion, a testament to her commitment to family and community.
Nelva was very loving and sometimes stubborn, traits that she embraced with pride, much like her Scottish heritage.
A funeral service will be held at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel, located at 202 North Teilman, Fresno, CA 93706, on August 25, 2025, at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Fresno Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow at Toledo’s Mexican Restaurant located 8020 N. Cedar, (Corner of Cedar and Nees), Fresno, CA 93720.
