Patricia died peacefully on Friday, September 13, 2013. She was 79 years of age. Born July 20, 1934 at Hollywood, California, Pat grew up in the Long Beach, Ca., area, and graduated from Wilson High School there. On July 27, 1953 she married Ronald V. DeSutter. In 1959 the DeSutter family, now including two small boys moved to Fresno, Ca. In September of 1996, after 43 years of marriage, Ron passed away. On February 28, 1998, Pat married Sharon "SJ" Davidian. The Davidians and the DeSutters had been close friends for many years, and Sharon's wife, Marise, had died the previous year.
Pat is survived by her husband, Sharon; her brother, James Sheldon and his wife Madelaine; her linear descendants, two sons, Ronald DeSutter and his wife Tori and Christopher DeSutter and his wife Cindy; four grandchildren, Julie Arce and her husband, Daniel, Nathan DeSutter and his wife Cheryl, Robert DeSutter and his wife Ashley, and Katie DeSutter. Also five great-grandchildresn plus numerous step-children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On September 29, 1961, Pat committed her life to serving her God, Jehovah, and was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness in the name of the Father, the Son and the holy spirit. In addition to her big share in raising her family, she supported her husband in his rise in the Transamerica company to a division manager. Also she aided him in semi-retirement when he acquired a small business.
Her vocation in life, however, was her ministry of preaching and teaching the Good News of God's Kingdom. By door-to-door, and informally she would plant seeds of Bible truth in willing hearts, cultivating these seeds by consistent return visits and study the Bible one-on-one with those who wanted to learn further.
Pat's way of getting folks interested in the Bible was by posing questions that were of concern such as "Why do we die?" "What is God's purpose for this earth?" "Will we ever be free from sin brought upon us by Adam?" "When Adam sinned did God change His mind regarding His purpose for a Paradise earth?"
She was positive, but never overbearing, because she knew she could plant and water, but only 'God can give the increase!'
Pat's sure hope (an anchor for her faith) will be realized, when she awakens as a disease free human being in a New World of righteousness, with everlasting life on earth granted to her. Her favorite "hope" scriptures: Psalm 37:10,11,29; Job 14:14,15; Revelation 21:4,5.
In her final years in the ministry, she enrolled as a 'Pioneer', committing 70 hours per month in volunteer ministry service. She continued this for four years until 2012. God did indeed bless her with an 'increase'. Besides her family, Pat has a heritage of hundreds whose lives she touched, many now brothers and sisters in the faith, residing in several states.
A Memorial Service will be held at Kingdom Hall, 8765 N. Cedar Ave., Fresno, Ca., Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.
