Pedro Estevan Salcido Jr.

Pete was an outstanding athlete who participated in multiple sports growing up. He played soccer, baseball, and football. Later in life, he would become a football coach to many youth in his community. From 1996 to 1999, Pete coached Central Youth Football. From 2000-2022 he coached football for his Alma Matter Central High School. Pete would later also coach up in the Sierra for his son’s baseball and football teams.

Pete attended schools in the Central Unified School District where he received his High School Diploma from Central High School in 1994. After high school, he attended Fresno City College for a few years. As of late, he returned to college in the Fall of 2022 to pursue an associate degree. Between that time, Pete attended multiple vocational colleges and received certifications in various fields.

Pete was always a kind, patient, caring and loving soul to all he knew and loved. He was known to be a jokester and found joy in giving friends and family members humorous nicknames that would last a lifetime. However, Pete didn’t take too kindly when that type of humor was returned to him. As said, “he could dish is out, but couldn’t take it.”

Pete is preceded in death by his mother Gracie Salcido. He is survived by his pride and joy Kannon Allen Salcido, stepdaughters Madison and Micahla Riemath, Kannon’s mother Noelle Neely, father Pete Salcido, brothers Mariano, Mario, Daniel, and Christopher Salcido, and only sister Cristel Salcido, nephews Xaiver Heredia, Nathan, Tristian, Daniel, Christopher Jr., and Benjamin Salcido, nieces Alexia Heredia, Grace and Miranda Salcido, and grandnieces Nevaeh, Azula, and Evangeline.

Pete will always be remembered for his unwavering love to all who came to know and love him. Even through challenging and difficult times in his life, he always preserved and attempted to make his life and the lives of others filled with love and joy. He will be deeply missed by many. May his soul now rest in eternal peace, with infinite love for all he leaves behind.

A visitation for Pedro will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720.

Following the Visitation their will be a Graveside Service at 1:00 PM at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, 264 N Blythe Ave, Fresno, CA 93706.
