I miss you papa. I love you papa.
Thank you for being my grandfather.
You are in a better place now.
We shared a lot of memories, but I wished it lasted longer.
Thank you for being at my games and cheering me on. My favorite memory is when we went to Florida and you taught me how to swim and you played with me and my friend.

-love Ryan

Dear Family,
Grinell and I are so sad for the loss of our Uncle Ray. We offer our condolences to Auntie Margie, Arlene, Becky, Jeanette and all the Grand and Great-Grandchildren. We understand that he was in very bad pain and discomfort. We are thankful that he is no longer in pain. Arlene, I am so sad when you say you don't know why this happened. I feel the same way. I know the heartache and shock of loosing your Dad. I agree, with so many who have written what a Great Dad and Grandpa he was. Uncle Ray, I will miss your strong and silent presence, yet always ready with a joke here and there.

Grinell and I have been talking about our memories of Uncle Ray. He says something like, "Let's just say, I will miss our spirited sports conversations." I asked Grinell, "Does that mean you didn't agree on sports teams?" He said, "No. It just means our conversations were Spirited about Sports."

One time when Uncle Ray and Auntie Margie came up to visit, they stopped by our condo. Uncle Ray asked where Grinell was (on a Saturday morning). I said he was still in bed asleep. With that said, Uncle Ray turned to the staircase and slowly walked up . Auntie Margie and I were maybe five steps behind him. I didn't see what he did to wake-up Grinell, but I heard a loud slap and Grinell screamed. I think Uncle Ray enjoyed giving Grinell a scary wake-up call that day. It was really funny.

Another special memory of Uncle Ray that I want to share is personal between me and him. I just want to say that ever since my early 20's Uncle Ray has given me advice on home ownership. This was special to me because he spoke to me with respect and as an equal on this topic. When you are a kindergarten teacher, many people think you just color all day and tie kids' shoes. (Well that is a little true.) But Uncle Ray talked to me like he believed in me and that made a difference in my life. We love you, Uncle Ray. You will always be in our hearts and minds.
Love,
Diane and Grinell Reyes

Your battle is now over, no more tears flowing down your cheeks, no more pain, no more suffering, now you are no longer weak. I still do not understand why this had to happen to you, but I am proud to say you are my dad, the greatest man I ever knew. Thank you for everything you've ever done for me. I love and miss you so much.
