Richard T. Melella, known to most as "Dickie" passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at the age of 79. Born in Yonkers, NY, he moved with his family to Fresno in 1976. In 1977, he founded Kenclaire West Electrical Agencies.
Dickie was a United States Army veteran who served during the Korean War. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed placing a bet or two. Two of Dickie's favorite things were traveling with his best friends, Darrel and Gayle, Rod and Judy, and Carmen and Rosemarie, and enjoying quality time with his family and friends.
Dickie was a hard- working, generous, devoted family man with a big heart and the man that was always the life of the party. Dickie is cherished by all his family and friends, and will be deeply missed.
Dickie is survived by Lorraine, his loving wife of 52 years; two children, Laura and Richard; daughter-in-law Kirsten; sister Annette; brother John; numerous nieces; nephews; and very close friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns, and Blair Funeral Home on Thursday, October 23, 2014, at 11:00 a.m.
