Rick will be remembered for his love of trucks and cars, he loved to fix them and make them faster, shinier and better working. He loved a good Sunday football game and enjoyed watching Nascar and Indy races or any monster truck competition.
He was born in Los Angeles, Ca. on March 29, 1933, to Margaret and James Stewart. He relocated with his family to Fresno in 1943 and attended Fresno area schools. He graduated from Edison High School in 1952. After high school, he enlisted into the U.S. Army where he served two years stationed in Arizona, Washington State, and Alaska. After his honorable discharge, he began driving truck for Daddato, Chiarito, and Central Coast.
In 1960, he met and began dating Alice Soares, and they married on July 1, 1961. He started his own trucking company, R. Stewart Trucking in 1964 which he owned and operated for 37 years.
In the later years after he retired, he enjoyed attending many of his grandchildren's activities, which included dance recitals, soccer games, volleyball games, football games, birthday parties, piano recitals, and baseball games. His grandchildren will forever cherish his presence.
