On October 9th, 1972, I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Rob A. Palmero. I thank God for blessing me with such an awesome son. From birth I knew he was going to be a special child of God. However on July 14th 2014, my son was taken back to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ. That day will never be forgotten. We were sad, hurt, angry, and in disbelief that something like this could happen to our son, brother, friend, and soul mate. Nevertheless, as believers in Christ, we know that his death is not in vain, and he is in a much better place. He is now walking the streets of gold with our Lord.
The time that Rob spent on earth was full of adventures. Right before his freshman year, he decided he was going to teach himself how to play tennis. Eventually, he worked his way up to the number one spot at Sanger High. His next adventure was to teach himself guitar, which he then mastered. With this new skill, he decided to form a band called the “Crones.” As time went by, he decided to take up skydiving. His passion for this, took him to the skies nearly 500 times. Rob was fearless, and knew no limitations. Robert was an avid member of his gym, where he got himself into great shape. As a part of this, he decided to take up mixed martial arts. Rob was very fond of the outdoors, especially fishing, hiking, and camping. He always appreciated the serenity that nature brought to him. On many occasions, Rob shared these outdoor experiences with his friends and their children. These experiences will never be forgotten and will be fond memories to those who went with him.
In spite of all his accomplishments, he remained a loyal son, friend, and dedicated employee. In the last year of his life, Rob met his soul mate. It was evident to his friends, co-workers, and mom, of how happy Rob had truly become. He was able to experience true love with his soul mate, Rose. Rob shared his passion for the outdoors with Rose, where they took thousands of pictures of their adventures. Their relationship was like it should be: worry free, full of fun, and filled with memories.
Unfortunately, Rob’s life was cut short last week. We may never understand why, but know that God knows why Rob’s time on earth was through. Rob lived a life of faith and humility, and was never once ashamed of his relationship with Christ. We will always remember our son, brother, friend, and soul mate. He will always be loved, never be forgotten, and will forever have a place in our hearts. Rob, we can’t wait until we meet again. We love you and miss you, and make sure to save us a seat next to you.
He is survived by his mother Linda; brothers Steven and Aaron Palmero; and Rob's soul mate, Rose De La Cruz.
