A graduate of Fresno High School, Robert began his career as a glazier before joining the family's Construction Site Clean-up business. In 2008, he proudly became the owner of the business, a role he cherished.
Robert was married to Renee Gillam, whom he affectionately referred to as his Lovely Leigh Renee, for 32 years. He is also survived by his brother Rick Gillam, his brother Audie Gillam Jr., his sister Audrey Daniele, and his children: Kristine, Robert, Karen, Kathleen, Angie, and Christina. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Breanne, Merritt, Kersten, Sophia, Braden, David, Paige, Kaylee, Aaliyah, Jordan, and Allyson, as well as his great-grandchildren: Cariessa, Camiyah, Cayden, Bradley, and Kennedi.
Robert was a man of strong faith, believing in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He enjoyed traveling to Pismo in his RV and relished the life he built in Bass Lake, where he loved boating and fishing. Known for his strong personality, Robert was passionate about sharing the gospel and had a remarkable gift for prayer. He was a great listener to his children and grandchildren, offering them sound advice and praying with and for them.
A visitation will be held at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel, located at 202 North Teilman, Fresno, CA 93706-1310, on July 28, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, followed by a funeral service at the Chapel at 10:00am.
Interment will follow at Belmont Memorial Park.
Robert Gillam will be remembered for his love of life, his dedication to his family, and his unwavering faith.
