Rose Marie Gilio

Mom was born in 1925. She died at the age of 88. She leaves behind a sister, Ann Mezzina; three children: Mary Jean Gilio Soares, Louise Gilio, and Mark Gilio; six grandchildren: Jennifer Gates, Jaime Januse, Janice Monroe, Justin Gilio, Josh Gilio, and Kevin Gilio; as well as five great grandchildren.

Being a child of the depression, Mom always appreciated the value of a dollar. She worked hard all of her life and saved every extra penny. She tried to instill this value in her children and grandchildren.

God was always at the center of her life; and of all the values she taught her children, her devotion to God was always at the core. She volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister and assisted the elderly before she herself needed assistance. Her kindness, warmth, and love will be missed by everyone she touched.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nazareth House—a little piece of heaven on earth.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at the Nazareth House on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at 7:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Monday, April 14, 2014, at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
