Rose was born in Brantford, Canada on May 24, 1917. Her parents Solomon and Peruz Agajanian moved their four children Louise, Charles, Doris and Rose to Fresno where their fifth child Albert was born. In school, Rose achieved athletic awards especially in Tennis plus Homemaking certificates of which she was very proud and served her well throughout her life. In the Armenian tradition, she was introduced to Michael Tolegian of Los Angeles. They married shortly thereafter, celebrating 58 years of marriage, making their home in Los Angeles where she assumed the responsibility of caring for her mother-in-law.
Michael and Rose had three children, Madelaine, Marlene and Michael Jr., who sadly predeceased his parents in 1973. Rose was actively involved at St. James Armenian Church and the Ararat Armenian Home in Los Angeles serving as Treasurer for many years. In addition, she was an active member of the Los Angeles Chapter of Eastern Stars. Mom worked by Dad's side continuously at the Holly Bowl Market and was very supportive of him.
Mom's dedication and love of her husband never wavered as she stood by him and took care of all his needs until he passed away in 1995. Michael and Rose retired from the grocery business and moved to Fresno where she has since resided for the past 36 years.
She was a member of the Armenian Home Guild and St. Paul Armenian Church and the Ladies Society working alongside of sisters-in-law Caroline and Ann Agajanian where eventually the 'Baking Angels' had their beginnings.
Mom predeceased her only surviving 97 year old sister Doris Marikian by 18 hours and ironically they were 18 months apart in age.
Rose's happiest memories carried through her 95 years, sharing the love of her family and where she will continue her role as 'The Baking General' in Heaven.
