Ruth Carol Rapp

It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of Ruth Carol Rapp’s passing on Monday, November 3, 2025, in her beloved hometown of Fresno, CA. Surrounded by her devoted husband and three cherished children, Ruth’s final moments were filled with love and warmth.

Ruth was born in Santa Rosa, New Mexico, to Jesse and Iola Emmett. After graduating from Central High School in Fresno, she embarked on a fulfilling career in catering. Alongside her sister, Judy Peralta, she helped establish Pardini’s Catering, where she became affectionately known as “Ram-rod Ruth,” a nickname that reflects her dedication and passion over more than 20 remarkable years.

At just 17 years old, Ruth encountered the love of her life, David Eugene Rapp. After two wonderful years of dating, they exchanged vows on September 15, 1973, starting a journey filled with love and family. Together, they welcomed three beautiful children and were blessed with ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her eldest son, David Ray Rapp, has children Kayla, David, Addison, and grandson Josiah. Her daughter Kimberly and her Husband Mark Vivenzi share in the joy of their children Tyler, Dustin, Sadie, Dixie, and Dazie. Ruth’s youngest daughter, Kristy, and her husband David Pruitt, are the proud parents of Wyatt and Allison.

Ruth is lovingly remembered by her husband, David, and her children, David, Kimberly, and Kristy, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Iola Emmett; her sister, Judy Peralta; her brothers, Jesse Ray Emmett, John Edward Emmett, Randall Lee Emmett; and her grandson, Tyler Joseph Rapp.

In reflection of her life and legacy, a Graveside Service will be held at Fresno Memorial Gardens, located at 175 S Cornelia Ave, Fresno, CA 93706, on November 21, 2025, at 11:00 am. Ruth will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
