He arrived to this country in 1946 at the age of 23 as part of the Bracero Program, a Mexican laborer program in the early 1940’s, during the WWII era and worked throughout the country as a seasonal agricultural worker. He began his career of 20 years as a quality production manager until his retirement in 1986 at Tom’s Foods. After retiring he continued his passion of farming in his home state of Zacatecas.
The family would like to thank all those who touched his life and were inspired by his youthful, friendly spirit. He often shared with family all the acts of “love thy neighbor” shown to him by his Dry Creek trail community in Clovis, as he enjoyed his daily walks and exercise. The family would also like to thank Dr. Juan Carlos De La Cruz Mayhua, Sonja Hernandez, RN and the entire staff at St. Agnes Medical Center for the care and attention they provided.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Maria de Los Angeles Garcia. His two sons, Efrain Garcia and Joel Garcia. And a number of beloved family and friends.
He is survived by his six children, Argimiro Garcia, Alfredo Garcia, Maria Noemi Garcia, Eunice Garcia, Eleazar Garcia, and Amauri Garcia. Along with four generations that include many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and one great-great-great grandchild.
He will be remembered by his family as a loving God-fearing father and grandfather, who lived an honest, ethical, hardworking life.
Above all we would like to thank God for giving him 100 years of favor and grace and for allowing us the privilege of loving him.
