A beloved resident of Fresno, California, Shirley was known for her warmth, creativity, and community spirit. Raised in Porterville, California, Shirley married George Weber, and together they owned a vineyard in the Easton area for over thirty years. She cherished the country life, though she was less fond of the dust it entailed. Shirley retired from West Park Elementary School, where she worked passionately in the kitchen, preparing meals for the children and engaging with them through conversation.
Shirley was deeply devoted to her family, and her creativity shone through in her various arts and crafts, including painting, pottery, and decorating. Her involvement in the community was extensive, serving as a Room Mother and participating in 4-H, Boy Scouts, FFA, band, and sports.
Described as one of the most beautiful people you could ever meet, Shirley was affectionately called "mom" by all her children's friends. She had a heart that listened, comforted, and encouraged those around her.
In the last 20 years of her life, Shirley traveled abroad with her friend Ralph Takakjian, visiting places such as China, Turkey, Rome, Greece, Mexico, and the Mediterranean. They also explored the United States, visiting Alaska, Denver, New Orleans, Las Vegas, and Hawaii.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Brenda Wilson and Cindy De La Cerda; her grandchildren, Stephanie Johnson, Jennifer Gerdes, Kristen Ascencio, Kyle Weber, Blake Weber, and Lewis Pena; her great-grandchildren, Miah Sanchez, Madison Garcia, Trevor Wilson, Jordan Baker, Savannah Mcgough, Romani Reyes, Garrett Weber, Greyson Weber, Cecilia Weber, Emma Cardenas, Lawson Weber; and her great-great-grandchildren, William Cash Pilegard, Magnolia Garcia, Tree Pena, and Azari Santillan. She was predeceased by her husband, George Weber, her son, Randy Weber, and her great-grandchild, William Clay Pilagard.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 3973 N Cedar Avenue, Fresno, California, 93726, on October 13, 2025, at 1:00 pm. Shirley's legacy of kindness, creativity, and love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
