Steven Norris Henkel

Steven (Steve) Norris Henkel passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022. Steve was born on December 11, 1946, to Reuben and Elsie (Wagner) Henkel in Fresno, California at the Burnett Sanitarium (Community Hospital). He graduated from Fresno High School in 1964. He attended and graduated from California State University, Fresno with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Business.

Steve leaves the following legacy of family: his wife of over 47 years, Barbara, and their two children and their spouses, Catherine (Randy) Hopkins of Clovis, CA and Andrew (Amilia) Henkel of Fresno, CA; his grandchildren, Addison, Brayden, Madelynn Hopkins and Skyler Henkel and McKenzie Obermire; his sister Lonna Henkel Torrico (John) of Coto de Caza, CA; his niece Shana Torrico Gerryts of Rancho Mission Viejo (Hendrik), and Hudson and Blake Gerryts. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Steve worked for the County of Fresno, Fresno City College, Fresno Police Department, and California State University, Fresno. He took pride in his ability to help others.

He was a member of the Edison Social Club for many years.

Visitation will be at Stephens and Bean Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Stephens and Bean followed by the graveside interment at Belmont Memorial. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Steve’s memory may be made to the Edison Social Club - 3325 West Clinton Avenue, Fresno, CA.
