Hello, my name is Veronica but I met Steve as Zhary in a virtual place called Second Life several years ago (which now seem like forever ago). Though I never met Steve outside of the virtual space we shared in this wonderful world that is Second Life, I can tell you I felt I knew the real Steve, and I loved him very much. We became not only very close but the best of friends, he was like a big dopey brother to me and I felt his love, his concern and his support all the time. I feel blessed to have known him, he was not only funny but incredibly fun to be around; he was kind & generous to a fault and always there for anyone who needed help or simply a listening ear. He was fiercely loyal & always stood up for those he loved.  

In our world we knew him as Maverick Sunsurf, we were inseparable & to me he was simply Bro-Bro. We teased and harassed each other but we always had each other's back, and along with Ashlyn and Niko we were a tight krew that loved each other and loved to share fun happy times together.  To us he was 'Surfer Dude', our Snorer Extraordinaire; we would get together to watch movies and he would always fall asleep and start snoring 15 mins. into the movie, or he'd say 'hang on I'm gonna go get some coffee" and come back 25 minutes later saying he'd stopped to talk to his Pop.

 It was always obvious to us that he was a loving father and a dutiful loving son. He loved his children and grandchildren, and always shared with us the little things that brought him joy in his real world family. 

Perhaps most of you didn't know what Second Life is or that Steve had a family there who loved him very much, we are all terribly saddened at his passing, and we share his family's grief because it is our loss as well. We lost a brother and a friend and we will miss him terribly. 

Rest in peace Bro-Bro, you will live forever in our hearts.

There are so many wonderful memories I have had with Steve.  What an amazing and incredible kind, smart and funny man.  Me and my friends are in shock finding out that you are gone.  You touched our lives so much and meant so much to us.  We will miss you as long as we live and can't wait to meet again on the other side.  I will think of you everytime I watch the Niners or the Giants.  You are gone but not forgotten.  Never forgotten.  Love you Steve! xxoo
