September 17, 1957 – December 11, 2020
Raised in a large family in San Jose, California, Susie grew up to be a loving and outgoing woman who touched many lives. She was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ in 1975. She was an artist who could never quite sit still. Knitting, paper crafting, sewing, sculpting, weaving, Susie threw herself into everything whole-heartedly, eager to learn, her passion and curiosity leading the way. Most recently, she was an avid ukulele player, filling her Fresno home with joy and music.
Diagnosed with kidney cancer in December, 2019, she met the disease as she handled life – Head-on. Her most common comment to her doctors was, “What’s next?”, taking on the disease like a challenge to be overcome. Though each treatment initially showed promise, the insidious disease would then attack somewhere else. Susie lost her battle on December 11 of this year.
Susie is survived by Jeff, her husband for 35 years, her son Spencer, her siblings Sam, Saul, Simon, Sonia, and Sylvia, and many, many cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces. She joins her sister, Sarah, who was taken by cancer in 1982. She was deeply loved, and will be remembered by all.
