Teresa was known as a loving, strong mother who committed many of her days to the betterment of her family. As she knew the importance of pushing her children into higher education, she simultaneously worked. She and Papang tended their farm raised pigs and chickens to afford college for her children. She proudly contributed hard work as success for her 5 daughters as registered nurses, who were able to immigrate to America, and her son, an engineer in the Philippines. She later emigrated to the United States of America with Papang to live with her children and further guide the lives of her many grandchildren.
Teresa is also known as a God-fearing woman, who loves to praise the Lord in song and dance. She is known for singing many hymnals during family gatherings and church but notably – “Because He Lives” and “Blessed Assurance”. She was joyously involved in her local church, especially in the Philippines.
More intimately in her last several years, she was known to sing “Have a Good Time” to family members as she is cherishly remembered: she will sing everytime a family member has to leave or go somewhere....
‘Goodbye, I hate to see you go.
But have a good time. So long, I’ll miss you, dear I know,
But have a good time…
When you’re tired of being reckless and carefree
Remember that I’ll be waiting to welcome you home
So have a good time”
