Vera "Vivi" Pestorich

Vera was born to her parents Kosto and Joke Erbez.

She grew up on their family ranch in Fresno with her sister Olga and brother Mitch. Vivi graduated from Central Union High where she was a member of the tennis team.

In 1951 Vera married her forever love, the handsome Risto Pestorich. Risto and Vera worked together on the family ranch with Vera keeping the books. They had a marriage made in Heaven, always supporting one another.

Vivi finally found her home with Richard Spencer and his family. She dedicated 33 years working for the Spencer’s who became her second family. The family made Vera their honorary Grandmother.

They were blessed with their son, Larry, who was devoted to his parents his entire life.

Risto and Vera celebrated nearly 50 years of complete love and respect for one another.

St. Peter’s Church was very important to Vera and her family. Vera was a member of the Serbian Mother’s Club. She headed their fashion show, which was appropriate as she was always elegantly dressed from head to toe. Her baking skills were legendary, especially her mile high chiffon cake! Vivi was dedicated to her church and served on many committees. From teaching Sunday School to her amazing table decorations at the fancy luncheon there wasn’t a task she didn’t excel at.

Vera thoroughly enjoyed her role as Auntie Vivi with all the Pestorich children. Four of which are Larry’s Godchildren.

For 96 years, her love of life was evident as she celebrated each day with her beautiful smile and positive attitude!

She will be dearly missed by all. Her memory will be eternal.

Vera was preceded in death by her husband Risto Pestorich; her sister Olga Angelich and is survived by her son Larry Pestorich.

Services will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle, Serbian Orthodox Church, 3502 N First St, Fresno, CA 93726. Interment will follow at Belmont Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter the Apostle, Serbian Orthodox Church.
