Walter V. Cucuk

He lived his entire life in the Fresno Lone Star area, living less than a mile from his childhood home. Walt graduated from Sanger High School, Reedley College and served two years in the U.S. Army at Fort Ord. He married Barbara Erickson in 1960 and together they raised four children.

Walt will always be remembered for his faith, devotion to family, generosity, farming, gardening, hunting, and wine making. His extensive community involvement included serving as Serbian Men's Club President, Fresno County Farm Bureau Past President, Fresno County Planning Commission, Sanger School Board Past President, Sanger Lion's Club Past President, Fresno Regional Foundation Board of Directors, and numerous other boards.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Cucuk, of 52 years; son, Chris Cucuk and his wife Cheryl; daughters, Sheryl Imfeld and her husband Matt; Lori McLean and her husband Tony, Karen Kelly and her husband Steve; brother, Bill Cucuk and his wife Georgia. He was "Jeda" to nine grandchildren. Logan, Maicey and Allie, Amanda and Emily, Phillip and Peter, and Brooke and Calvin. He had seven nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at St. Peter the Apostle Serbian Orthodox Church, 3502 N. First St., Fresno, on Friday, September 28, 2012, from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m., followed by a prayer service.

A Christian burial will be held at St. Peter the Apostle Serbian Orthodox Church on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Graveside Service at Belmont Memorial Park.
