Burgie was a professional race car driver, motorcycle racer, USMC gold glove boxer, and state renowned transmission specialist. Everyone knew him from racing, street rods, car shows, and fabrications.
He is survived by his son and partner, Bryan Bergen and his wife Deanna; son, Jeff Bergen, daughter, Donna Barile; grandsons, AMA Pro GNC motorcycle racer, Brandon J. Bergen; Special Forces Recon Sgt. William C. Bergen; Army Specialist, Brice M. Bergen; and PFC, Jesse J. Bergen.
Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home, on October 31, 2011, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at Lisle Funeral Home, on November 1, 2011, at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
