

Wilson Wesley Workmon, the tenth child of Nathan and Mary Elizabeth Workmon, at 10:00 am, February 4, 1918 was born on their ranch seven miles west of Foracre, Ok and six miles south of Shidler Ok. In 1929 the family moved near Stubb Creek in Kay County OK, where they farmed until 1936. At that time the area was suffering from what we now call the "Dust Bowl" era. It was at this time that the family moved to Kerman, California in search of a better life. He went with them and did agricultural related jobs until 1939 when he became a carpenter and later a contractor. Wilson worked in the shipyards and as a carpenter during World War ll. In 1941, he married Ella Mae Cull started a family. After the war, for the next forty years, he was a carpenter and contractor and with his wife Ella raised five children. Wilson is the last of the eleven children of Nathan and Mary Elizabeth Workmon. His wife, Ella Mae Cull Workmon; and his second son, George W. Workmon precede him in death. He leaves four children and their spouses, Marilyn and Al Souza, Walter F. Workmon, Christopher R. and Arlene Workmon and Phillip W. and Cindy Workmon. He leaves behind seventeen grand children, twelve great grandchildren Beth Workmon, the mother of three of his grand children and Helen Workmon, mother of five grandchildren. His sisters-in-law and their husbands, Lola and Richard Allan, and Doris and Ted Ivey and his brother-in-law Harold Cull survive him. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him. Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel, on Thursday, March 3, 2011, from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel, on Friday, March 4, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. Remembrances may be made to donor's favorite charity.
