Arthur was born in Garden City, MI to Charles Stuart Long and Gertrude Ann Fabro on December 26, 1957. He went to John Glenn High School in Westland, MI, and later went to the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI. He served in the Army Reserve, before going to work in the art supply industry for over 30 years. His last position was Vice President of Fine Art Channel at Dixon Ticonderoga Company. He received the President’s Club Award for Outstanding Sales Accomplishment from ColArt Americas, Inc. in 2002, and was Salesperson of the Year for Canson, Inc. in 2013.
Arthur had a passion for gardening and fishing, and a fascination for fighter planes. He had an eclectic collection ranging from vases and paintings, to trains, teapots and decorative tiles. He was nuts about the Montreal Canadiennes, and had a sweet tooth that was unrivaled. But the love of his life was his wife, Jocelyn Angeles Sanchez, whom he met while working at Favor Ruhl. They were married in Michigan on October 17, 1987.
Arthur is survived by his spouse, Jocelyn, his brother, Charles, and his sisters, Linda and Laura.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Wounded Warriors Project in his honor (https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
