Ashley Elizabeth Farias, 32, of Frisco, Texas, passed away on April 19, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family in the town she called home. Born in Syracuse, New York, Ashley spent her early childhood surrounded by snow-covered winters and the warmth of a close-knit family before relocating to Houston, Texas during her adolescence.
A proud graduate of the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, Ashley earned her degree in Management Information Systems and went on to build a successful career in Financial Crimes and Anti-Money Laundering consulting. She began her professional journey in New York City, working at Crowe Horwath and later at Coinbase before ultimately returning back to Crowe, earning the admiration of her colleagues and becoming a top performer in her field.
Ashley’s brilliance, however, extended far beyond her resume. Her true joy was found in the moments she created for others: planning thoughtful getaways, organizing weekend activities, baking for loved ones, and coloring beside her daughters. She had a gift for bringing joy into the smallest moments and was the kind of person who loved giving more than receiving—whether it was handpicked presents for her nieces and nephews, themed care packages, or warm calls to check in on friends and family.
Her proudest role in life was that of a mother. Ashley leaves behind her devoted husband, Diego Farias, and their two beautiful daughters, Ariana Elizabeth Farias and Inez Lynn Farias, who were the center of her world. She was a guiding light in their lives—selfless, nurturing, and endlessly loving.
Ashley was a devoted daughter to her parents, Donald and Tami Day. After her father retired, she made a point to call him daily—often multiple times a day—just to check in and make sure he was doing okay. She cherished her nightly FaceTime calls with her mother, ensuring her daughters stayed close to their grandmother, weaving family into everyday life with care and consistency.
She was also a loving sister to her older brother, Christopher Day, with whom she shared a deep bond. He often said Ashley taught him more about parenting and life than he ever could teach her—because that was who she was: always seeking, learning, and sharing, always putting the well-being of others before herself.
Ashley and Diego’s love story began on bicycles—literally—while riding from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska to raise money for cancer research. It was on that extraordinary journey that they fell in love, a story as unique and unforgettable as Ashley herself.
She had a deep love for animals and cared for her three beloved pets—one cat and two dogs—as though they were part of the family. Even in the quiet hours of the night, Ashley was often found researching ways to enrich the lives of those she loved, particularly her children. Her dedication to being the best mother, daughter, sister, wife, and friend was unwavering.
Ashley nurtured friendships across all stages of her life, from childhood to adulthood, staying connected with regular calls and messages. She taught those around her how to love more deeply, live more intentionally, and give more freely.
A celebration of Ashley’s life will be held on Saturday, May 10th at 11:00 AM at the Stonebriar Funeral Home in Frisco, Texas. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and honor the beautiful life she lived.
Ashley’s legacy is one of love, joy, and boundless generosity. Her light will continue to shine in the lives of her daughters, her family, and all those she touched.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Texas 4000 for Cancer, the student organization that brought Ashley and Diego together, and whose mission she held close to her heart. Donations can be made online at www.texas4000.org.
