

Betty Jo Ivers passed from this life on to her eternal home on April 2, 2018 in Plano, Texas. Betty Jo was born on October 6, 1947 to her parents, Edmund Williams and Bertha Lindsey in Adams, Massachusetts. Betty Jo was the middle child sharing her childhood with sisters, Lindsay and Lila.
Betty Jo graduated in 1965 from Adams Memorial High School. Upon leaving for nursing school in Vermont, Betty Jo took on the nickname BJ. In 1968, she graduated from Mary Fletcher Nursing School. BJ dedicated 35 years to her career as a nurse, working most of her career at Lewisville Medical Center from its start in ICU and outpatient surgery. She retired in 2003, but continued her service and care of others for 10 more years as an ombudsman.
BJ married the love of her life, John Ivers. Together, they had one daughter, Andrea. Not only was BJ a devoted wife, but she also was a loving mother. She will be remembered for her big heart and love for people.
BJ was vivacious, energetic, and full of life. She was like a red firecracker. She enjoyed decorating and hanging out with her family and friends. She also loved spending time on the water. For much of their life together, BJ and John enjoyed traveling the world and boating on the lake.
BJ was preceded by her parents, Edmund and Bertha Williams. She is survived by her husband, John Ivers of Frisco, Texas; her daughter, Andrea Edwards and her husband, Tom, of Frisco, Texas; her grandson, Jase Edwards; and her sisters, Lindsay Heaslip of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Lila Fetter of Adams, Massachusetts.
