Brandon Wayne Blade, of Frisco, TX, crossed the plate to his almighty maker on March 3, 2026, a couple weeks prior to what would have been his 34th birthday. He was a rainbow baby born on March 22, 1992 to his eternally grateful parents, Chris and Karen Blade.
Brandon graduated with honors from Wakeland High School in Frisco, TX in 2010. Ever the athlete, he enjoyed playing on several youth hockey teams as well as high school golf.
Brandon worked for the Frisco RoughRiders and Texas Rangers from 2005 to 2017. He began as a batboy, assistant clubhouse manager and then as the visitor’s side clubhouse manager for the RoughRiders. Taking care of player’s needs, game and field readiness, meal planning and team laundry were literally on rinse and repeat in his baseball world. From 2019 to 2022 Brandon worked for the Houston Astros. His time with the Astros began in Davenport, IA as the clubhouse manager. Brandon was then promoted to the West Palm Beach training complex as the assistant clubhouse manager. During his time there, the Houston Astros won a championship. Brandon’s ring became one of his most prized possessions and represented the pinnacle of his career.
Those that knew him would describe him as hard working, intelligent, funny, caustically witty and the ultimate sports fan. His love affair with sports was fulfilled with baseball, football, hockey, NASCAR and anything Florida Gators. Brandon’s sports and life motto was, “If you don’t like it, play better”.
BBLADE6969 was his Gamertag. Call of Duty, FIFA and NHL were his gaming vices. A battered and bruised headset was replaced at Christmas and Brandon was able to stay connected to friends in and out of the state of Texas. Those relationships kept him tethered to a brotherhood that he cherished.
He and his father, Chris, were best friends. While it may not have been the traditional parent/child relationship, the two of them wouldn’t have had it any other way. That connection was so very precious to Brandon. Together they crewed for hot air balloon teams, yelled at the games and had lunch together daily. While she often referred to herself as the bad cop, his mother Karen was a fierce mama bear to Brandon and the love and respect between them was endearing and undeniable. She was his financial advisor, patient advocate, spiritual counselor and moral compass.
He is survived by his parents, Chris and Karen Blade; grandfather, Al Grenier; uncles Tim Blade and wife Kathy, Daniel Blade and wife Mary; aunts Rachel Hill, Cherie Forsythe and husband Tom, Carla Henager and husband, Mark. He also leaves behind first cousins Christina, Megan, Carson, Nolan, Glenn, Jonathan, Katelyn, Ryan, Aidan, Brent and Rachel.
Waiting in the afterlife for him are his big brother, Patrick Blade; grandparents Gordon and Marion Blade; grandmother, Julia Grenier and uncles Jeffery Blade and Doug Hill.
A celebration of life will be held on March 12 at 11:00 am in Teddy’s Tavern at Riders Field, 7300 Rough Riders Trail, Frisco, TX.
