

James Wesley Miller was born on October 11, 1920 in Hamilton, Montana. He was the youngest son of Reverend Thomas Miller & Eleanor Miller. His father was a Methodist minister in Montana & California for more than 60 years. Wesley was educated in California schools, graduating from Corning High School, Class of 1939. While in high school, he was an outstanding distance runner, winning N. California & state championships. He attended Stockton Junior College in California, and won the National Junior College Mile Run in 1940. He was named to the Junior College All American Track Team and later competed for the San Francisco Olympic Club track team.
On Pearl Harbor Day, Wesley Miller joined our United States Marine Corps. He served in the South Pacific and in Okinawa Campaigns. He was honorably discharged as a Tech. Sgt. in 1945. We are forever grateful for his loyal service to our country.
Following WWII, Mr. Miller worked as an Advertising Manager for Willys-Overland Export Corporation in Toledo, Ohio for five years. He developed advertising programs for Jeep vehicles in many foreign countries. Later, he joined Dana Corp. in Toledo and served at Dana's World Headquarters until his retirement as Manager of Community Relations, in 1982.
Wesley married Harrietta in 1944 and they were married 48 years before her passing in 1992.
On Sunday, September 27, 2015, James Wesley Miller was called Home. His life and legacy will continue to be honored and remembered by his son Glenn Miller & his wife, Tonya; three grandchildren, Allie, Matthew & Tristan all of Frisco, Texas; and other relatives and close friends.
