Jean Solomon (Lavada Jean Waldrop Solomon) was born to Wesley and Lavada Waldrop in Abernathy, Texas on January 17, 1931, the first of five children. She graduated Sylvester High School and shortly after married the love of her life, Gaylon Royce Solomon on June 4th, 1949 in Sweetwater, TX.
Jean was a beautiful and loving person, always showing compassion and giving grace to all. She was a precious wife to her husband and the perfect mother to her children. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren adored her.
Throughout her life, she liked working jigsaw puzzles with her friends and family, and she also loved to sew. Jean always enjoyed being at home, at church, or visiting with family and her favorite place was wherever her husband happened to be. Her taste in music was very eclectic, ranging from classical to contemporary music. She had a deep love for hymns and other songs of worship.
For years, Jean served as church secretary of the First Baptist Church in Big Lake, Texas where she was also active in the Women’s Missionary Union and later became a member of First Baptist Church of Frisco, TX.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Lavada Waldrop of Live Oak, CA and sister, Bonetta Self of Midland, TX.
