Jeremy was born December 21, 1979. His parents, Pam and Cole Harned say he was a very happy child, had many friends, and was always Pam’s little helper. He worked all the time to save up money since he was a youngster. He babysat, mowed yards, and watched family and friend’s pets. This work ethic continued to grow as he did. Jeremy wasn’t the baby of the family for long. Soon he had a baby brother, Josh, who grew to be his best friend and competitor. Josh and Jeremy fought often, as brothers do, but their brotherly love could not be challenged.
In school, Jeremy was a great student however, socializing was his main priority. As soon as he discovered girls did not have cooties, he always had a girlfriend – ever the romantic type. His passions in school were diverse, and he excelled at it all, from baseball, football, swimming, and wrestling – he hated to lose! Anytime he felt he fell short of perfection brought on frustration. He held everyone, including himself, to high expectations.
Jeremy grew up with a Westie named Sneaker - it was heartbreaking when Sneaker passed -- we can see him up there playing with him now because we all know that All Dogs Go To Heaven.
Jeremy was such a caring and loving son. He celebrated his parents’ anniversaries, birthdays, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day without fail. He cared for his Grandma Norma and Grandpa Bob. He would often stop by their home to do a repair, eat too much of Grandma’s home baked treats, or just have a beer on the patio with Grandpa. Up until a couple years ago, Jeremy and his girls always loved spending summer weekends out on the lake on his parents’ boat.
Jeremy’s first car was a ’65 Mustang, midnight metallic blue, with crème interior, which he traded his two dirt bikes and $500 with his cousin for. He had worked at Taco Bell though high school, which is how he learned to speak such eloquent Spanish. Jeremy graduated from Marcus High School in 1998 and he never stopped working. When he was 18, he began working as a carpet tech with his longtime friend John Boyd. He continued working as a carpet tech for many years which lead to his most successful career, co-founding RAM Services with Michelle Fuller. Jeremy and Michelle built RAM with hard work, commitment, and amazing support from their employees– which created a strong family environment. They know without the amazing employees and clients, RAM would not be where it is today. RAM Services has grown from a small carpet and maid service to an amazing construction company that will live on in his honor.
In 2005, Jeremy took on being an amazing step-father to Michelle’s two girls, Chelsea and Liberty. Michelle and Jeremy also gave Pam and Cole the best news a parent could ask for, they were going to be grandparents to twin girls, Alli and Avery! Jeremy was a loving, loyal, hard worker, and adoring father. His annual Valentine's Dance with his girls was always special to him. He loved having a big family Christmas and he continued that tradition with Alli and Avery. Michelle and Jeremy signed up the twins for cheer when they were 4 and Jeremy worked with them to practice, and improve; always making it fun! Michelle and Jeremy hired the twins cheer coach, Mallory, to be their nanny when they were 4. Today, Mallory is still their nanny and cheer coach. She is an irreplaceable part of the family and we wouldn’t know what to do without her. Now, the twins have won a multitude of cheer competitions and they have already been invited to a national competition this year!
Pam and Cole recall their most recent joy with Jeremy was when he announced he would propose to Megan. Jeremy and Megan were engaged in January of 2016 and married in May. Although not together nearly long enough, their time together was precious and filled with so much love. Megan found it easy to fall in love with Jeremy for many reasons but watching him be such a great father was at the top of the list. Megan didn't just fall for Jeremy but his girls too. Jeremy and Megan recently found HOPE Fellowship to call their church home and it brought true joy to his heart. His girls loved that church, and he even got Pam and Cole to join the church.
Jeremy touched so many hearts. He left an impression that is not easily shaken. Look around this room at all the people that have stories about how Jeremy touched their life. May we all be so lucky.
