

Judy Ann Carr Cribbs, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and educator, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024 surrounded by her family. Born in Indiana, Judy moved to Florida as a young girl and graduated from Largo High School in Largo, Florida. She later settled in Brazoria County, Texas, where earned a Bachelor's degree and later a Master's degree in education. from the University of Houston, Clear Lake. She dedicated over 40 years to her community and her passion for teaching.
Judy was married to the late Robert L. Cribbs III, with whom she shared a life filled with love, family, and faith. Together, they raised two daughters, Nikky Burge (married to Michial Burge) and Jaime Mottinger (married to Marc Mottinger), who were the pride and joy of her life.
Judy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Frank and Barbara Carr, as well as her husband, Robert. She is survived by her daughters, her brother Gil Carr, and her sister Cindi Thomas and husband John. Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren: Shannon Burge, Kevin Burge, Cody Burge, Milo Mottinger, and Reilly Mottinger. Judy also leaves behind her nephew Colin Thomas and niece Savannah Thomas, who held a special place in her heart.
Judy's love for learning and teaching was evident throughout her remarkable career. She inspired countless students while teaching at elementary and junior high schools in the Columbia-Brazoria Independent School District and the Angleton Christian School. Judy also extended her expertise to post-secondary education, teaching at Texas A&M University at Kingsville.
Known for her warm heart, unyielding support, and dedication to her family, Judy was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She took great pride in her grandchildren and their accomplishments, always encouraging them with her gentle wisdom and kind spirit.
Judy's impact on her family, friends, and students will be remembered and celebrated for generations to come. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her loved ones in heaven and will forever be watching over them.
A memorial service will be held to honor Judy's life and legacy. Details regarding the service will be shared by her family. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Judy's memory to AFTD.org.
