Margaret Rose Niederkorn passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at 7:50 pm while sleeping comfortably in her family home in Frisco, Texas. She was the youngest of 5 children, who were raised on a farm south of Ravenna, Nebraska by John and Gertrude Stittle. She graduated Ravenna High School in 1964 and attended The College of Saint Mary in Omaha, Nebraska.
Maggie was a wonderful wife to Michael Oliver Niederkorn for 53 years, and was an exceptional mother to her two sons, Michael and Marc. She was a religious and caring soul, always putting others before herself in her daily life. Her laugh carried through a room as she enjoyed time with family and friends. Maggie enjoyed gardening, puzzles, reading, and singing in church. Her favorite movie was “The Sound of Music”, and she really liked crime shows, especially CSI.
All of those who knew her as family, and those who met her during her lifetime, would find her to be kind, funny, and generous. Maggie had no enemies in life, only friends. During her over-a-decade long battle with cancer, she was incredibly brave and strong. It was truly amazing how she rarely complained through treatments, injuries, and fatigue. She was, and is, an inspiration to everyone who knew her before her diagnosis, during her diagnosis, and after her passing from this world into the next.
She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Oliver Niederkorn of Frisco, Texas, her sons Michael John Niederkorn of Frisco, Texas and Marc Alan Niederkorn of Cary, Illinois, her grandaughters Allison, Casey, Sarah, Cassidy, and Melissa, her brother Fred Stittle of Oakland, California, and her sisters Barbara Habe and Joan Kriha both of Ravenna, Nebraska.
