passed away on August 8, 2024, in Frisco, Texas. He was 69 years old.
Born on July 5, 1955, in Memphis, Tennessee, Randy was the son of a farming family and grew
up with a love for the outdoors and hunting. He attended the University of Arkansas and worked
on his family’s farm in Earle, Arkansas. In 1986, he moved with his wife and daughters to Dallas and received his MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas. He then worked for NCNB, P.O’B. Montgomery Company, and then founded Twist Realty. He also had a joint venture in Benchmark Opportunity Partners. His real estate company became a testament to his work ethic and dedication, qualities that endeared him to many and earned him the respect of his peers.
He is predeceased by his parents, Dick and Mary Twist; and his father-in-law, Dewey Weaver, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diane. He is also survived by his daughters, Katie
Kilmer and husband Wayne, Christie Twist and husband Max Delferro, and Allison Twist and
husband Kyle Hodges; Chris, Julie, Hannah, Brooke, Scarlett and Allison Gibson; brother Rick Twist and wife Martha; sister Judy Dugan and husband Mike; mother-in-law Clara Weaver; sister-in-law Nan Cummings and husband George; brother-in-law Dewey Weaver, Jr. and wife Julie; brother-in-law Doug Weaver; and seven cherished grandchildren who knew him as “Gondy”: Jack, Sadie, Eli, Josey, Reagan, Ellie and Eva; as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Randy was known for his easygoing nature and simple approach to life. He was a kind man and
a great father, genuinely interested in others. He was usually on Santa’s Nice List. His family
was the center of his world, and he took great joy in attending his grandchildren’s activities. He was an avid reader and was interested in learning his whole life. He always had an encouraging word and loved to laugh. His ability to make others feel at ease and his talent for storytelling made him a cherished presence in the lives of those who knew him.
A happy sendoff will be held at a date, place, and time to be determined and updated on this site shortly. His request was to “make it another good time.” In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Randy’s memory to the American Heart Association.
Although we feel as though we lost him too soon, he will be profoundly missed and remembered
for his kindness, humor, and the warmth he brought to those around him. His legacy lives on in
the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
