Richard Peterson, 38, of Midland, TX passed away on December 8, 2020, in The Colony, TX from natural causes linked to his heart. Richard was known affectionately as “Ricky” by his friends and family; “My “Little Bean Burrito" by his mom; “Punk” by his wife, and “Uncle Pineapple” by his nieces Avree, Aspen and Heidi.
Those who shared his life are: his mother, Billie Bulger; wife, Darci Peterson; brother, Kyle Bulger; and grandmother, “Nanny” Marie Reeves. His bonus family included Ken and Jane Hood (Pops and Cuda); "brothers” Brett Hood, Britton Doyle, Jimmy Kunze, and Bo Hood; nephews and nieces, Ethyn and Kynsley Hood, Rylie and Jaxson Doyle. Aunts and uncles, Mary and Coy Barker, Chris and Kally Eddison; cousins, Christian and Garrett Eddison, Faith Koegl, Beau and Kate Barker.
Richard graduated high school from Plano West and worked as a personal trainer for 10 years and in corporate management for 10 years.
Richard’s family meant everything to him, and he loved opportunities to get together with them to watch the Cowboys, Stars, Rangers, and Longhorns play. Because of his love for traveling, there will be many trips remembered by Darci and his family of going on beach vacations, as well as riding the roller coaster at NY NY, Friendsgiving, football tailgates, Oktoberfest and the yearly cousins Haunted House tradition. There will be times remembered of watching his favorite movies, “Tombstone”, “Braveheart” and listening to music with him.
Richard will be remembered by all of us as the most genuine, hard headed, caring, loving, “shirt off your back”, loyal friend, and best human being on earth.
When Richard and Darci got married on Jan 1, 2018, they wrote their own marriage vows. Being from Oklahoma, she joked, “I promise to still love you through Red River Rivalry even though you wear that ugly burnt orange.” “I will always be your shotgun rider on all of life’s crazy adventures.” And so she did!
Richard’s smile, mischievous ways and the way he cared for all of us will be missed, but we will carry him every day in our hearts.
