“Ro”
“The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” – 1 Samuel 16:7
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rolando Castro, our loving son, brother, and friend, who departed this life on June 7, 2025, at the age of 42. Ro lived a life marked by passion, dedication and unwavering courage.
Ro was born on August 15, 1982, in San Jose, California, the second of five Castro kids. He moved to Texas with his family, settling in Plano and graduating from Plano West Senior High School. He had a joyful childhood, always playing outdoors with friends from the neighborhood, and participating in team sports. His smile was always his calling card, always opening doors and sometimes getting him in trouble.
Ro was a talented baseball athlete and his abilities garnered him a lot of attention as a high school standout, eventually earning him the opportunity to play Division 1 College baseball. Ro graduated with a BS in Aviation Business Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona, Beach, Florida.
He embraced life’s challenges as opportunities for growth—both spiritual and physical. Most importantly, Rolando relied heavily on his relationship with God, followed by his love for his family, and the passionate pride he had for his children.
He is survived by his daughter, Gemma (12) and his son Luke (7), his parents, Mario and Leonor Castro, as well as his sister Bianca, and his brothers Andres, Mario Jr., and Stefan.
Though his physical presence is no longer with us, Ro’s spirit lives on in the hearts of all who loved him. Today, we say goodbye—but we hold onto the hope of being reunited one day. Until then, we are comforted knowing that we have gained the fiercest, most battle-ready guardian angel anyone could ever ask for.
A ceremony celebrating Ro’s life will be held on June 21, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Stonebriar Community Church, followed by a celebration of life at Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco, Texas. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Ro are warmly invited to join us in honoring his life.
Rest in peace, Ro. Your legacy will live on in our hearts, and your memory will be cherished for generations to come. You are deeply missed and forever remembered.
