August 10, 1955 – February 5, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ron Austin, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world suddenly on February 5, 2025.
Born in Houston, Texas, and raised in Austin, Ron lived a life filled with passion, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to his family and community. A skilled mechanic for 35 years, he could fix just about anything and always had a tool in hand, tinkering away in his garage. His love for fishing was unmatched, and he found his greatest peace out on the water, waiting for the next big catch.
A true people person, he never met a stranger. Whether he was cheering on his children and their friends at Little Elm High School, striking up a conversation at the store, or serving as the volunteer Mayor of Hackberry for over a decade, he made a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. His warmth and humor lit up every room, and his unwavering support and encouragement were a source of strength to so many.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Anne; his two sons, Timothy and Elliot; his daughter, Stephanie; and his four cherished grandchildren, Liam, Levi, Luke, and Gisele. Though he has left this world, his legacy of love, generosity, and laughter will live on in the countless lives he touched.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 1pm/CT at Stonebriar Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in his honor.
Rest easy, Dad. Your light will never fade.
